Saturday Night's Yes We're Drunk Video - Third Time's The Charm Edition
Yes, this it it. Taking the last non-imaginary break from EVE. If you ever see me back in there it's because someone will actually want me to be in there for whatever reason you may imagine valid.

Friday's Electric Lunch Hour - RIP Frank Zappa Edition
This past Tuesday, December 4th, marked the 19th anniversary of Maestro Frank Zappa's death. So it is only fitting that I post one of his masterpieces as I usually do at this time of year. But instead of going for one of the complex and soothing melodies, this time I'm going for pure raunchiness. If you feel this is NSFW, tell your boss he's a fucking wuss !!!
Enjoy!

Saturday morning video - 2012/02/04
Sorry I skipped the Friday video postage, but believe me it's not from neglect. Three days at the hospital with my youngest will do that. No worries, all is cool now and he's back home and his asthma is under control. Fuck asthma.
On the EVE front: well quite literally, the end is near. On March 15th at 0500 evetime Cozmik will go into cryosleep, and he will stay there as long as there is no way for me to make ISK while having fun. I've gone over this before so I won't bore you again. On a positive note I did finish the training of Minmatar Battleship V and I'm currently training the same for Gallente. which will finish a week and a half before The End. After that nothing will matter.
On the Skyrim front: yes, this is where I've been having ridiculous amounts of fun. It's the new drug I needed. Having plowed through the game as soon as I got it, I am now doing the quests I skipped on the first play-thru so on Cozmik mkII I played Stormcloak and finished the Dark Brotherhood line. But two mods make sure that it's always fun to run around in Skyrim even if I don't do a single quest. The first is Wars in Skyrim IV, a mod that adds tons of vibrant life all over Skyrim. You can find giants and mammoths being attacked by bandits (with hilarious results), Thalmor mages ambushing you, werewolves hunting in packs, and flocks (!) of dragons to make sure you don't get bored. And those are not the easy laughable vanilla dragons anymore because my second mod is Deadly Dragons, a mod that not only makes dragons A LOT harder to kill, but also adds a variety of them with more powers. Storm dragon that shoots lightning? Check. Black Dragon that spits acid? Check. Dracolich that summons dragon priest ghosts? Holy shit check! But it doesn't stop there because the mod also adds a lot of dropped loot from the dragons and new craftable stuff that uses that new loot. Oh and a sweet-ass retexture of the Daedric armor!
So just look at these two paragraphs and guess what has my interest...? That's right. And it's far from over because on Tuesday Bethesda is releasing the Skyrim Creation Kit, so modders while start pumping out a lot of new material, and good mods will get even better. I cannot wait to see them!

Friday's Electric Lunch Hour - 2011/12/02
So it's a bit on the early side. I couldn't care less because this week felt like it was never-ending. I'll spare you the details. This Sunday will mark the 18th anniversary of the death of Frank Vincent Zappa, one of the greatest, weirdest, most prolific music composer to have ever graced God's Green Earth. Therefore it's only fitting that I post one of his greatest piece of work. No need for fancy visuals here, just close your eyes and let the music take you to places you never thought possible.

Friday's Electric Lunch Hour - 2011/02/18
No, I will not be moving to Montana to become a dental floss tycoon, but yes, I will be moving soon. But EVE having royally sucked lately - lost a Loki last friday, came too damn close to losing my PvE Sleipnir, and having seen an alliance-mate lose a PvE Machariel due to a power outage - I haven't logged on much this week, to the point where this morning I came within 2 hours of missing a skill flip. And knowing that in the next week I will be making sure everything is ready for hauling, I set the skill that will turn my already powerful Sleipnirs into death machines. Command Ship V here I come!
Because my computer will be one of the last things to get packed I will try to get in on a little Hulkageddon action as time permits; I will miss the opening ceremonies because I have my boys this weekend, but I'm sure I will need to gank something after packing a few too many boxes. I will most probably start idling in the HAG4 channel to get a feel of what's happening and where, and especially where is it more likely to collect the tastiest tears! I still have to buy my batch of gank-fit Thrashers but living near Rens this is not an issue. So to all who will be participating I wish the best of luck and may the tears be plentiful! And to the industrialists I hope you are like the ones I know and have batches of miners, industrials and gank ships ready to dump on the market. And to those who absolutely have to mine for whatever reason (surely not because you like it!) I hope you will be smart about it. And the same goes for mission and 'plex runners about to salvage a field of wrecks; remember that Noctii are free game this time around :))
Fly safe or dangerous, your pick. I know mine >:)

Friday's Electric Lunch Hour - 2010/12/03
Tomorrow will mark the 17th anniversary of the death of Maestro Frank Zappa, so of course I have to post something from him. He may be gone, but his music will last forever.
EVE front: well, nothing much happened because I've had a crazy week in Real Life. I've had to grab my financial bull by the horns and body-slam the fuck out of it. Yep, it's called bankruptcy. The downside: no more car for a while; it was actually the reason why my finances started sucking. The upside I feel a helluva lot lighter! Other things will be happening in the near future as I will be moving just before April 1st, but I'll let the dust settle and not think about that too much for now. Holidays first.

Friday's Electric Lunch Hour - 2010/09/10
Yep, it's once again time for the up-beat break that will annoy the crap out of your boss, cubicle neighbour, mom, or all of the above. This week I branch off from the metal theme to the absolutely wonderful universe of maestro Frank Zappa. A little background on the Black Page: the tune was originally composed as a drum solo to challenge Zappa's then drummer, Terry Bozzio. He then came up with the melody that was played along with the drum solo. As Zappa himself said a lot of people couldn't approach the song's "statistical density in its basic form", so he gave the tune a lot more swing and turned it into the Black Page Part II, The Easy Teenage New York Version. In the 80's Zappa added some reggae elements, culminating in the 1988 version I've posted here. Another anecdote about the Black Page involves drummer Vinnie Colaiuta shortly after he joined Zappa's band. During a session, Vinnie played the solo and did something most regular drummers can't even think about: without missing a beat, Vinnie pushed his glasses on his nose, grabbed a piece of sushi, and kept playing the near-impossible tune. Terry Bozzio, who was present at the session, apparently walked out in disbelief! After this video is done I encourage you to watch the original Black Page as played by Terry.
On the EVE front: after half a week and a petition, AMC leadership has now passed from Letrange to Cathrianne, and ChaosStorm is now out of the alliance, though it is set so blue it's almost black! So what does the future hold for us? Well, if we want to stay an alliance one thing is certain: we have to recruit. AMC has a strong industrial background and can basically build anything, even capitals if push comes to shove. It should be noted that though there is a lot of emphasis on industry and mining, especially in the colonized W-space systems, carebear activities can turn into The PvP in the blink of an eye. All of our pilots have learned the hard way that crying and whining about a ship death is just not acceptable. Not only that, but most of our essentially carebear pilots can turn into bloody-thirsty hunters if the occasion presents itself. But AMC is not all carebear.
We at MAPU are PvP minded; we do have some non-PvP activities in order to stay afloat in decent ships and mods, but since most of us have access to L4 agents, or W-space sites if we ask nicely enough, ISK is not really an issue. We also do some exploration sites in dangerous space, because there's nothing like flying dangerous :) For now there are only a few of us that are active, but we hope to get some more pilots to start fielding bigger gangs. We are currently stationed in Gerbold, on the eastern side of Heimatar, with easy access to three Null-sec regions: Etherium Reach, Great Wildlands and Geminate. For solo PvP or small gang action we have clones in the Everyshore region where we have access to many Low-sec hot spots, and not too far away from Null-sec Syndicate. We are not looking for pilots with a specific amount of Skill Points, or that fly specific ship types. We are looking for pilots from pure n00bs who want to learn the ways of the PvP to veterans who are active but want to play casually. If you are looking for clockwork ops or military rule, MAPU is not the corp for you. If you are in another corp but know of people who are starting out in EVE and would be too young SP-wise for your outfit, by all means send them our way! For more information or an interview convo, contact Unzer, Havegun Willtravel or myself, Cozmik R5, in-game.
So that's pretty much it for now. The weekend is about to start, and about damn time too !!!
Fly hard

Edit: as of this morning, Cozmik has achieved Heavy Assault Cruiser V. I can now field the Perfect Vaga... ok not quite perfect but all gunnery, navigation and ship related skills are now maxed :)
